Cangjie radical table: keyboard and auxiliary shapes
Cangjie breaks every character into radicals, each mapped to a letter on the keyboard. These Cangjie radicals are based on a character's visual shape, and are not the same as the Kangxi (dictionary) radicals (部首) used to look characters up. Below is a keyboard overview, followed by each radical with its auxiliary shapes and example characters.

| 難 | X (難, "difficult") is used for characters that cannot be decomposed by the normal rules, plus a few special cases. It has no auxiliary shapes of its own. | ||
| 重 | Z (重, "repeat") is a reserved key with no Cangjie radical. When several characters share the same code, some implementations let you press 重 to enter a character directly instead of picking it from a candidate list. Its behavior varies by implementation, and Cangjie Workbook does not use it. | ||
